Elize's sorrow by Iardacil Elize's sorrow by Iardacil
It's inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale.. The Wild Swans
For =Isabeausong children story contest, beginner

Do you remember the story of eleven princes and their sister? After their mother died, their father married again but the new queen was evil witch who turned brothers into swans and the flew away and sent Eliza away. Poor girl wandered all alone in the world. She met and old woman who told that she have seen eleven wild swans wearing crowns.. Eliza found her brothers and they told her about that spell and that only way to break if she is ready for suffer - she have to knit eleven shirts of nettle picked from a graveyard and throw them over brothers but until that she wasn't aloud to say a word.

She started her job on a dark cage.. away from any settlements. Just knit from day to day for her brothers.. waiting sunsets so that her brothers can turn into humanshape for an hour... But oneday hunters found her and with hunters were a king who fell love with her, took Elize with her into his kingdom. Elize said no words and continued knitting. The king wanted to marry her but archbishop said that king new nothing about that girl.

Elize continued knitting until she had no more nettles left and she waited until night fell and she went to graveyard to pick nettles. But the archbishop followed her and next day Elize was accused of using witchgraft. She was prisoned but she continued her knitting. She continued knitting even if they drove her for execution. But then.. eleven swans came.. and Elize threw the shirts over them. The crowd gasped as the great swans turned into princes. She saved her brothers, only the yongest had one swan wing as sister coudn't finish last sleev. And she told everyone she was innocent and brothers confirmed her words.. Her love and self-sacrifice lead into happy end :)

My second photomanipulation... I start to like this :) (and sorry that those birds are not swans in matter of fact. Couldn't found any swans I could use... and as there is almost winter so there was even no hope to try and catch any of them bymyself... Hope that this won't be trouble..)

You didn't even need to say this was inspired by a fairytale because one can truly understand it by simply looking at your lovely piece.

Thank you so very much for using my stock, this is a lovely work.

great manipulation! Love the softness of the background. And that's one of my favorite stories. :) Juliet Marillier wrote a novel based on that myth. A must read.

Must try to find that story... I just never loved those classical, "telled so many times" fairytales as I was young.. I don't know.. This caught my heart and first fairytale I remembered was this..

I am very glad you like it :) Thanks..

Pisaraga sai ilusasti korda..

Elementaarne, mu kallis Watson ;)

Natuke parem?

Ja nõuanded kuluvad ilusasti ära :D
