There is no excuse for violence...

Details: [link]

This time there is no song quote even if I thought I still go with U2 - Bloody Sunday as the song and movie of the same name where the song was featured - it was the main reason what forced me to take up the digital pen again and do this. (you can listen it here - [link] )

And no dedication either... or if it can be said - for everyone who has been victims of violence acts... We cannot forget that those humans who hurt other humans and there is no excuses.

But it is not the only reason. I have not been on DA for weeks. I was almost sure I won't come back as I felt I do not need it. I am not able to make something what other's will like and when I try to make something masses will like, I won't like it. And I discovered that have been the main reason for me why I have been down of my art - I have tried to please you and not cared so much what I would like to create. I promise - it will change now. I need art to express my emotions, to tell what is going on with me and I have been silenced too long.

I read an article on newspaper about a case of a young woman who was victim of violent act but she was convict and had extra punish because they said it was her fault she got hurt. And it really made me think - how can it be. We all know that hurting and doing bad things is wrong... and I do understand some countries need special rules and laws to help their culture to survive but... is it not too much when it comes to convicting the victim as they think it was her fault? How can she get longer and harder punishment than those who hurt her? What is excuse for them? That they are men? I say - there is no excuse for violence...

And that article really moved me and left me some how boiling.. and I am not sure what else in uni, but something really pushed me over the limit and I was not able to take it anymore. I came home, turned on tv hoping to spend it seeing something pointless. I had digi tv show when switching channels I can see the name of the program, and if it is film, directors, actors.. that kind of information. I was just passing a movie channel when I saw there was movie directed by Paul Greengrass'. If you have seen any of his films (most famous are second and third Bourne movies) then you know, he has quite unique way of making those and signature camera work. I decided to watch it and after a minute I understand what the movie was about and I was not going to leave. It was named "Bloody Sunday" and talked about the events of one of the Bloody Sunday's on Ireland. on 1972 January there was peaceful civil right march what was turned into massacre. 27 people in two minutes. I have always been somehow specially connected for that countries history as writing the essays, projects.. first for school.. then in uni.. Knowing the situation, the scenery and the conflict - that movie was just ... it was something I wish I could not have seen as I was already so on line but that broke me - too emotional, I know. One thing is to read and research about that kind of events, but the other is to see it on the screen, when it is done so realistic and it is not some commercial Hollywood movie and mostly historically direct. It was shocking and... I have no words to express myself. You can read more about the events here [link]

But that was enough - I am not able to talk with people around me in home. They never understand me. And then I remembered why I need my art. I need it to express myself.

The story of the piece - There is no better stock what I wanted to express than `Elandria's banner serie - the broken and defeted look of that stock. And the atmosphere I tried to create - first I wanted snow but it is hard to turn not snow stock into snow (even I know I have done it once).

The story could be something like this: the peaceful kingdom has come to the end of its days. The boarders are overran by enemies. The sign lights on the mountains are lighted but for what. They all know there is noone coming to help them. They are all and alone and they will fallen. The beacons idea on the mountain - Lord of The Rings influence surely. And she - was she the queen or just bannerholder, but she is the onlyone who has left. Everyone has ran or killed and the mighty ruler of that little kingdom has fallen on the field trying to defense what is left. But it has been lost cause with no way out. And now - she has brought the sword up over the water, to keep it there and to have last resting place for that kingdom and the king. She still has the banner but what point is to hold it anymore? Everything is lost. There is nowhere to run, noone to protect them. Noone who will survive the pain what is coming. Sorrow... Lost... and given in...

I think everything else can be guessed by yourself.

Many symbols, I think. That broken sword on ground, the banner.. the white pure snow falling... the waterfall... autumn forest...

And little call for you. There is not much I alone can do to change it. To change the violence in this world. But now, as the Christmas is coming, maybe we all should think a little. And if you have thought and think you want to do a little, then a least you can do - pass the call. Make your piece inspired of something you want to change. Something that have moved you. If we cannot change the way the world is, we at least can have our voice and say that we think

I think I have said enough:

Elandria | Sylwia-stock | Kuschelirmel-stock | Syccas-stock | Falln-stock | Fantasybrushes | Ro-stock | Arristable | Finsternis-stock | Finsternis-stock | Nachtswolf-stock | Arrustablestock | LadyVictoire | personal + sxc.hu ([link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] )

It's beautiful, and I agree...violence should have no excuse. I, myself, am a pacifist and it's a choice I've made in life. So often people focus on those who did the violence and not on the victims. And you're right, victims do get blamed and that's not right.

I'm glad that you're bring attention to it. I'm the same way, I can't always talk about things with people at home and writing is the way I express how I feel. Once again, amazing piece. I love it and am glad that there are still people out there who haven't been completely desensitized to violence.

To be perfect, you just need to be yourself. Every little imperfection is what makes you, you. Those imperfections make you perfect. Imperfection is perfection.
