After "Faith of the Heart" and "Eye of the Storm" brought me much more attention, I felt that this is my change to get my message out of the people and this work is all about that. So, lets get make the story of Darfur heard.

Darfur is a region on western Sudan what has been, from 2003, in the middle of conflict called "War in Darfur" or "Darfur Genocide". It is the conflict of ethnics and tribes but the reasons behind the conflict are not so local and somehow we all are part of it. The reasons behind that conflict is - desertification, overpopulation - all cause by the climate warming. And because the changed climate Baggara nomads were forced to move more south to the lands of non-Arabic farming communities - and there the fight for land and place to live started.

But the result of the conflict is:
*UN has estimates 400 000 causality by violence and decease.
*Over 2,5 million people has had to be displaced to refuge camps what are only almost secure place to be.
*Many people have escaped to neighbor country Chad and Central African Republic and the conflict has spread there.
*MSF has said that 21.5% children under 5 years has suffered from acute malnutrition and 5% of children under 5 died in last 3 months. These levels of mortality are well in excess of death rates defined as an emergency.
* Whole population faces food shortage and threat of starvation in the very near future unless substantial food distributions can be organized.

And I could continue the list... and what is maybe most shocking - Sudan is keeping most of those numbers secret. Government has estimated only 9000 people have been killed.. That is the reason the conflict is also called "silent war".

This worked gave me a nightmares. As I have so deep feelings, deep sorrow over the conflict and somehow I have always taken those things inside me.. I wanted this piece to be perfect. I wanted dark girl with dark hair and I worked with whole different model at the first but one point I understand - it is not going to work and when I just made the model not seen.. I realized that the background looks great and I do not want to lose anything of that - so I started to look for model who does not stand - I am not sure if this is a perfect choice for the model as I ended up with white girl and blond hair. And I would have preferred maybe not so known stock as this image somehow always associate with dark art but that is not my intention. But when I saw it.. I knew it will fit so well and it works. It did.

It is always the way - when you want something to be perfect, you spend hours with it and you are still not 100% happy with it. I do not even know the hours I spent on it.. it does not maybe look like that, but there is endless hours - like all day yesterday I played with hair - I just could not get the right hairstyle.. I draw, I deleted.. I draw deleted and I am not too happy with the color but it is ok.

For some time this worked looked for me like it is going to be my first landscape only.. but it was too empty without some person there and I wanted there a person from the beginning - some one to symbolic the suffering - someone to remember all the pain.

And many thanks for =Behana whose knowledges of English helped me get the best name as I knew what I want in my mother tongue but to express myself in English is not always the best. Thank you, sweety.
