For for her birthday what is today. If I could say I have best friend here in DA, it would be her, as I have not met noone like her - always supportive, helping and just being around. Thank you so much for that, sweetie. I hope you will love this as we both know - we love the other world, where our art takes us, more than the cold reality.

I started it long long ago. I did the background in Autumn but just never found the right model to fit it, so it was left. Couple of weeks ago, I re-started this work as I got the idea. To be honest, first the name came. It is not so original name as some of my names as at the beginning of September (when I still had little time not like now) I was watching old tv show named La Femme Nikita with my sister. I read the episode titles and one of those episodes had that title - "On Borrowed Time" I started to love the title and tried to imagined what can be behind that. I do not know it yet as we are somewhere in the middle of third season of watching it but the episode with that name is the last of that season.

But even better - I had my own idea.. My own "On Borrowed time". I wanted to make something romantic, something tragic and I do not remember why, but while working on it, I remembered one of my favorites songs from past - Spandau Ballet's "Trough The Barricades". I tried to find it on my computer but it most have been got lost at the beginning of last year when my hard drive crashed. So, little searching and I managed to get it back but also learned the story behind that song (what they are sining and to be honest, I would not have read it from lyrics but with knowing that the song is about Ireland and it's history made it even more special to me as I have been from quit young been huge fan of that countries history, written many researches, articles and essays about that. A new weird little thing you learn about me). So, I put that song on my playlist and to repeat and started - it took many hours, headache and then stop... and many weeks pause as I had to study, but on Friday and yesterday, I spent finishing it and it is done. A new piece.. over a long period of time.. but it is here and I am happy for it.

First, it is special to me - the idea... reflection of yourself but seeing your beloved one. The way two people become connected and the way that connection is something noone else can understand. But for those two - being apart is the most hurtful thing... and even if they know from the start - there is no possibility for them - they are from different sides of life, trying to overcome their legacy, inheritance, find some happiness, some love and peace but knowing that it can be only a failure - as they belong different places. But will that stop them? No...

So, it is few moments of stolen happiness and then a disaster not be avoided - and after that, only suffer, tears and pain. That I tried to symbolize with the background - eternal sadness, endless tears... all that water falling - showing that things can go on, pass by.. but the sadness still stays. It is a fairytale like place, dreamy and mystical, but for her - she is blind for the beauty as for her, there is only the memory of the past times, beautiful moments, oughts and promises, dreaming of better days and being sure - they have every thing to win and nothing to lose. But she has lost everything - he is only memory now, but for her - he still lingers around her. And there is always one escape...

Always change.. on borrowed time...
