Within Temptation - The Swan Song

For *CrystallineEssence fairytale contest. Inspired by Swan lake fairytale.

And this is dedicated to *FrozenStarRo whose birthday is coming soon and as I am sure I won't be around for that time.. so better before than late.. Have a wonderful birthday, dear.

I think on my childhood I heard so many fairytales but there were some that really moved me more than others. One of those was the swan lake for the choice prince and swan princess made, and so I tried to create my own version of that slavian fairytale.

The story talks about young prince who is forced to find himself a bride but while hunting on the forest she sees a lake where lovely swans dance.. and he learns that they are princesses turned into swans by evil sorcerer. The only way to brake the spell is tell that someone loves the princess. Prince is ready to do that but the sorcerer interrupt and ofter he is deceived and almost forced to marry sorcerer's daughter, prince and swan princess drown themself to the lake to escape the evil of this world.

And ofcourse we all know the ballet based on that fairytale so that's why I chosen ballerina for this piece.

What I tried to portray is the purity of the princess heart, the way she and the prince chose the life in the lake.. the snow.. purity... this was my intention.. the purity of hearts.. purity of their love..

And I am just so glad to have new image for you.. Hope you like it..
