Within Temptation - The Truth Beneath The Rose

This is for for her birthday (what was little ago) and also for the thank for catching my 50000th pageview. I promised a request and she wanted the background looking like a swamp. So I tried. I am not sure how swamp it is but as "Wishwell" already was swamp work, I tried to keep the request but come out with something new.

My sister, who is genius in geography, noted that this work is not logical - because there is forest in back, swamp in middle and sea in front. It's fantasy, mystical realm, my kingdom. It do not have to be logical. It is a dream.

I started with background again and did not had the idea what will come out until I had it. I never planed it like this. It just came. I promised there will be no tombstones in my works that why I tried to avoid and make that memorial thing looking different but yes - it tries to create a scene in graveyard (in my mystical realm that is how graveyard looks) inspired by a story I wrote.

I have always had problems with being social and expressing myself. When I was young, I found my peace in writing fantasy stories. Now I find it in art. I wrote a lot. Hundred of pages and those who read, they where impressed. They all told that I have lively imagination and for my age skills they did not thought I could have.

In one point of my life, I just stop writing. I started acting and I didn't need to write anymore to find my piece. The last thing I wrote before stopping was quite massive story named "Enemies" (it never had no real name.. only the "working title"). The story talks about little kingdom what is part of the bigger Empire. The old king is weak and he has four children - all ready to take the throne. So, that is the main plot between the brother, the heir, and the oldest daughter, who believes that she would be much capable ruler than her weak-minded brother. With intrigues, traitors and allies, threat from outside the kingdom, competition for power, rule and surviving... Anyway.. this is what the main thing is but the plus of my writings have always been chars. I have no way to express those so vivid, changing and improving chars I wrote as I needed over 200 pages for them and here I do not have it - but the point is. That story and those chars - they all became so dare to me.

From time to time I have tried to rewrite my stories. Use that wild imagination of child and now, with experiences in life, give it a new vision, new level. That I have been doing in some days this summer.

Anyway. My most favorite char was Abigaille - the older princess - strong, willed, self-confident, competent. I have no words to describe her - she had everything I ever wanted - mysterious, little bit mad, misunderstood but always wanting the best and ready to take a change.

This is Gaia, the daughter of Abigaille. She had very little part in the story, came in the end only to find out that Abigaille's brother have executed her. And this is the reunion of the daughter and her mother. Many people there taught that Abigaille was traitor, rebel, the one who abandoned old ways and she - special by her powers of seeing future, knows her destiny and that it will be dark. And there she asks - for her counsel, trying to find her place in that world, finding balance for her action.

After the long talk, I made to the point - it is about finding your place in this world, accepting your destiny or try to make your own, following your dreams. finding the balance...
