Twenty past six..

Sleep is something vital we cannot continue living but
only short part of the sleep we experience dreams. And there have been so many different theories what the dreams are - that dreams are symbolic expression of frustrated desires that had been relegated to the subconscious or dream function is to restore our sense of competence or that they are just random memories we get from our brain and then brain attempts to reconcile and make sense of the nonsensical sensory information presented to it.

I have always been fascinating by dreams as they are so vivid and so weird for me. Like I have totally different city in my dreams but from years to years it is always the same. And I have a lot of dreams about public transportation (what is really weird and usually it takes place in my "city").. or the dreams are so real like that I do not even get that I am dreaming - like I wake up in dream, do all the things I do in the morning and then my alarm clock rings and I realize - I have done none and have to do it all.

So.. this picture is about the dreams we have in night. I could give you a little theory of REM sleep where those dreams occur but to be honest - it is not important. We all have our different kind of dreams, they are sometimes weird, sometimes very colorful and everything is possible there and logic don't have to be logical. Somehow this images goes that way too - putting together not so logical elements but I love the outcome. First I just loved the window but in the end it looked little empty so it got another purpose too - being a clock.. Is it a inner clock we have in dreams, counting the time we still can relax from hour daily chores or is it the universal clock, counting minutes forever.. And those veils.. that kind of soft light.. something peaceful, almost like paradise.. something you treasure so much you just do not want to leave it.. And there comes the title - Twenty past six.. it is soon the time to wake up.. but then the sleep feels to be so sweet and usually in the most exciting place.. like when you are watching your favorite tv show and on the most important moment you get - to be continued. I hate it.. and even if I am quite a morning person, no problem to wake up, I do treasure my dreams so much and would not like to leave them.. to keep running and floating in my dreamland.. on those fields where grass in greener and sky brilliantly blue..
