Update
Hey! How have you been? I have relatively busy. The funny thing is, that now, when I am PhD, I would say I have more free time than I used to have before.. but only relatively as there are tons of things to do. I think I just enjoy being back home and having change to play vomputer games (mm.. not big gamer but I would love to try new sims season extension :P) or read books or.. just.

At the start of Setember I started attending fashion design classes. I mean, last year there were so many things I did, so I wanted to do something back home too. It's not all the time about fashion and I had done watercolor landscapes (loved it) but now I am back to fashion drawings. Some nice steampunk costumes coming out from my pencil.

I also discovered Star Trek: Deep Space 9 in September and I LOVE IT!. I mean, I have always loved dark, serialized and serious sci-fi (BSG, Babylon 5.. etc) and Star Trek, even though cult and so on, I always thought, is that kind of "we have a ship and discover new planets and that happens every other week" but DS9 is just so much more.. It is dark, it has amazing back story (like cardassians and bajorians and their history! Love that whole war and occupation and the hate and dark pasts and all..), brilliant characters (first i really liked Kira and Odo but when I saw Garak.. oh.. total fan of him now). So, I have been watching it (as much as i can with the time I have). Have made it to season 6.

In November, for a second year, I participated in  NaNoWriMo. When last year it was huge struggle to find the time and inspiration, then I had learned - I spent some time in October to plot what I am going to write and then the writing went much better. I am quite happy with what came out and in the end, I even made 70 000 words. And I think the story is good (and my experiences last year gave me quite a lot "personal knowledge" to put into the story). Gave it to alpha reader yesterday. Let's see what kind of feedback I will get. (But I love writing. I used to write before I started doing art.. but then, when I took up photomanips, in some weird way, I just could not write anymore. Like I have artistic output for one medium only). Anyway, when November was almost over, I started working on manips again. I love my latest work (even thought the feedback on it has been lesser than works made turning summer). But I think someway it is always like that with my art. When I love the image, it is not that popular... but hey: the most important thing. I LOVE it!

And talking about books. One of my friends suggested reading "Horus heresy" series. After three books: I am hooked. And if I am not wrong the series has over books currently. Oh my.. long reading list.

And my head is full with ideas to put into digital canvas.. :) If I could only get myself away from the mathematics I am "creating" and do that instead of things I have to do :P

Update
So, I do not know if I mentioned but I spent my last year as a exchange student in Northern-Ireland. It was probably best year of my life. Belfast was amazingly lively and vibrant place (and tiring and hard on other times). I loved the city. I loved those terraced houses. I oved pink double deckers and those streets lovely for walking. I loved how the city was compact and how there were hills and parks.. I loved the university i was in. It was very refreshing to see different kind of educational system and learn inside it. It made me open my eyes how things can also be done and made me realize how some things are so much better back home. I loved travelling around every weekend - in North, in Republic and my holidays in Scotland. I loved the change to go and listen Christy Moore every month (it was not planned at first but he was amazing in live and so.. I only had those two semesters.. so I took most of it). I loved going to all those random small places I would have never probably gone otherwise. I loved trips to Dublin.. and the history there. I loved university organizing us trips to forest parks. I loved the nature. I loved folk parks and I loved Derry and everything there.. (and sleeping in Bogside what was interesting experience). I loved all the tours I took, all the amazing people I met.. How friendly there were. I loved my Irish classes and going down to Falls for that every week. I loved every bit of it! But sadly, it came to an end.

I think you can imagine that after university, half-time work and all the travelling + all the events I participated, I had almost no time to anything else. So that's the reason behind the lack of new artworks.

Then I came back home and finished my master degree and got accepted to PhD. I did apply to PhD in Northern Ireland too (and I would have loved to stay there, do that prohject etc), got accepted but I could not afford living there (for my year I got scholarship). So, it was dream coming true but also dream not coming true. And in the end, there were too much hassle with the PhD back in my home uni and.. I do not know.. Too many choices and I think I made the wrong one. But it was really stressful period.

So for the summer I just escape from everything.. and now when summer is almost over.. I can promise, there will be new artworks soon. As usually, my summer artwork limit seems to be three. So three new works soon coming and hopefully more after that.

I have missed you all :)

Merry Christmas
I wanted to wish everyone a peaceful (and hopefully) white Christmas...

I really hoped I will have time/inspiration to work on my Christmas card as every year but some weird reason, the whole December.. nothing. I managed to make two fantastic book covers but no Christmas card.. :S So, I will be working on my Christmas piece in.. mm.. I have no idea.. I have little time before the cramming for exams start and my second semester at Belfast looks to be so much more busier on timetable side... oh.. long.. very long Fridays what is not good.. :S

10 things about me:
1. Even thought I love doing art, writing and history is my great passion, I study computer science. I always love people faces when they hear that instead of all the creative stuff I could study, I am doing science (and love it). And I think I am quite successful there too - I am not sure how many master students have 5 scientific articles published and few presentations presented in conferences..

2. I love Formula 1. I do not know why but I just love it.. The excitement, the action, the unknown factors and great drivers. I used to love it more few years ago.. Honestly, finding Christmas present for me was like looking for one to 10 years old boy (F1 book, model F1 car etc.. :P) My favorites seasons are probably 1998, 1999. My favorite drivers are Robert Kubica and Frentzen..

3. In some weird way, it can be said that seeing "Star Wars, episode 1" in cinema changed my life very much.. Not the movie, but things I did because of have been seen the movie..  and things I did because of those things.. To be honest, because of that movie  (and all the events after that) lead me where I am now.. To Belfast :D

4. There are certain movies I watch every year in certain days.. "Boondocks Saints" on St. Patricks Day.. "V for Vendetta" on 5th of November.. etc

5. I think most digital artist prefer fancier and bigger digital tables. I still (after 6 years) work with the same digital table I got when I decided to try photomanipulations : A6 Graphier 4.. It looks like it has been trough hell but it still works.. (pencil is hold together by tape).

6. I play Live Action Role Play (LARP) and I love it. I love it because I used to do acting and it is so much more freedom.. I love it because it is a good excuse to make myself fancy costumes and to be honest.. who would not love running around in the forest, adrenalin plumbing, chasing orcs.. solving mysteries and saving the day...

7. I have a list of 50 places I would like to visit.. (and being here in Northern Ireland and being around, I have managed to cross few out) and nr one in the list in Antarctica (all my fanciness with polar explorers. :P)

8. I love makin bookovers.. The process of bringing writer's vision to visual reality.. I just love it.. Would be making bookcovers all the time if I could...

9. My favorite piece, I have made this year has been "You Made Me a Thief of Your Heart"..

10. I love summers in my little summer cottage near the sea.. I love sea.. I cannot live without it..

Questions:
1. Coffee or tea? If tea, green or black?
Definitely tea.. Prefer green but hey, I am not picky..

2. Sounds or scents?
Sounds.. I am not good with scents (and to be honest, not good with sounds either.. )

3. Who is your favourite artist?
I love WilliamSchimmel's arcticpaintings and Allan Lee's watercolors..

4. What book would you recommend to everyone?
Anybook by Bujold McMaster.. Sci-fi, comedy, and such a joy to read.. My sister was once saying that me and her boyfriend were reading those books non-stop. We finished them, and then started from the first book again.. Just brilliant pieces of literature..

5. Is there such a thing as sin?
Hard one.. In what sense? If this is religious question, then I am not the right person to answer.. If take it in general.. I am sure there are things we should not do.. and we can call those things sin..

6. What will the future be: dystopic, utopic, or something between these two?
Hard one.. To be honest, I have no idea.. Let's wait for the future and see

7. Do zodiac signs have any influence on people?
I do not think so..

8. What is your motto?
"Treaf softly as you tread on my dreams..."

9. Do you fear death?
Yes

10. What foreign languages do you speak?
English, little French, Russia. Studying Irish currently. Have been studying German and Polish and Latin.. (I am hopeless with languages but I never give up)

DA prints
Like what? I think in past the subscribers prints where checked after they were uploaded but now.. when I am adding my new calendar to my basket and add some older ones, they get divided into two sections, saying the new ones have to be approved first and they are saying I have to pay postage cost twice. That's crazy.. :S Am I missing something and things have changed with year or? It just sounds creazy.. The price of the calendar is quite high itself and to have two postages.. it is like buying another extra calendar.. :S
